Chadwick Update

Chadwick Brighton, one of the Brighton brothers found his forever home almost a year ago. His foster family recently received another wonderful update. Chadwick has grown into a very handsome guy!

I wanted to send you a few pictures of Chadwick a year later. He is happy and healthy (with a chronically stuffy nose, but it doesn't slow him down a bit...and allows me to always hear him coming!) and very very very busy. I don't think he sleeps. Ever.

He loves watching the birds out the window, especially if he can hide in the Rosemary plant to do it (thankfully, that fruit bowl was empty just then...). He is very cuddly, and loves what we call the "magic spot" on the couch. No matter who sits there, he is there right away, leaning on the person's left leg, purring away. He and Simon (the Standard Poodle) play together regularly. This morning, they were playing tag in the living room.

Reagan and Riley Enjoying Their New Cat Climber

Another great update from Reagan's (fka Gigi) and Riley's (fka Tessa) family! Their custom built cat climber is all finished and they are having lots of fun climbing, playing, and napping together on it.

The kitties are still doing well and they seem to have adjusted to our household very well. I finished the cat climber I was building and put it in our living room. It was an instant hit--both kittens had climbed to the top within four minutes! Now they love to scratch on it and lounge in the top box.

Avoid the Snow - Watch Kitty Play

Here in Minnesota we received another hefty dose of snow, 12+ inches, and it's still snowing. So take a cue from Chandler's recent adoption update and stay inside with the kitties, dig out those toys from under the furniture and have fun.

I found Chandler's crinkly ball under some furniture, and she still has a blast with it! ...She and Calyx are still getting along famously, and Calyx is very happy to have a friend to play with!

Shy? No, Not Nonnie

Nonnie is a fun 8 month old kitten with tortitude, but you may miss it if you just stop by briefly to visit. Nonnie is a little cautious when meeting new people. Luckily we have a video from her foster mom to prove what a loving, friendly girl she really is.

Nonnie is in foster care with her sister Trudy and mom Cleopatra, if you are interested in meeting them please call 651-705-6264.

Brother and Sister Forever Family Found

Last October we posted a story about Winnie and Piglet Jr., Brother and Sister Looking for a Forever Family.  Not long after, they did find their home! They are now Winnie and Dante and their foster family received a whole bunch of great photos with the latest update from their mom.

They sleep together on their gray blanket on top of my bed every night

Valentine's Family - First Litter Rescued in 2011

Tuesday evening one of our foster volunteers picked up a momma cat and five kittens who had been born outside during the most recent cold spell. Thankfully someone in the neighborhood, a woman named Donna, had placed two insulated boxes under the deck of her apartment building to help the stray cats in the area survive the winter. Momma cat moved into one box shortly before giving birth and Donna was surprised to find kittens one day when checking the boxes and setting out food. She contacted Feline Rescue and the family was brought inside safely. Momma cat is a small, young cat so it is a good thing they made it inside before any roaming animals could find the babies.

Momma has been named Valentine. They are certainly a beautiful, colorful family.

We are always in need of new foster homes and the need is greatest as the weather begins to warm and kittens are being born. If you are interested in fostering, please contact Cathy at 651-230-3263.

Please spay and neuter your pets to prevent unwanted litters.

Justine - Busy Entertaining Her Family

Gracie fka Justine is all settled in to her new home and enjoying herself with her new family.

Hello!
About a month ago me and my boyfriend Alan adopted Justine, whose name is now Gracie! She is doing super well, she sleeps with us every single night, she gets lots of treats and is slowly but surely getting sillier and sillier!!

Here's some funny things she does. She sleeps under our bed, upside down, on top of another bed! haha. She can STAND UP on two legs. It's kind of creepy but hilarious! When she's interested in something, she curls her paw and points like a pointer dog, it made us laugh so hard her first night! She loves sitting on her purrniture we bought for her and we have three huge sliding glass door that she LOVES looking out of. There are a lot of squirrels and birds she likes to watch!!

We love her more than anything, we were wondering though...why was she brought to the shelter in the first place?? She's like the perfect pet....

Kaity, Alan and Gracie

Gracie was rescued from a feeding station monitored by volunteers. And now she looks so happy in her home.  Thank you Kaity and Alan!

Princess Pixie Pretty in Pink

Pixie or Princess Pixie, as she is affectionately called by her foster family, arrived last week from Leech Lake reservation via a rescue transport.

Princess Pixie already has her loyal human subjects at her beck and call.  But some of the older feline subjects in her kingdom don't quite yet agree that a petite, polydactyl 5 month old kitten should be allowed to rule the land.

If you are interested in providing a fairy tale ending to Princess Pixie's journey, call 651-705-6264.  The princess is prepared to entertain visitors but will not be ready to travel home for a couple of weeks.

Gigi and Tessa!

Reagan and Riley, fka Gigi and Tessa, became great friends in foster care and we were so happy when they found a home together.

We've been receiving updates from their family and here's the latest with photos.

Here is a picture of the kittens sleeping on my desk and a picture of the cat tree I am building.

These lucky girls are having their own cat tree built for them!

Update - Teddy the Christmas Kitten

Teddy's foster caregivers have been able to get one good photo of him and hopefully more on the way.  Sounds like they just need to catch him sitting still.

As reported from his foster home, "he's doing well.  very feisty!"

Thank you to everyone who donated so very generously to assist with his medical bills!

Preparing for Kitten Season

It's been a cold, snowy winter this year in Minnesota, but we are still bracing for kitten season as cats who have not been spayed or neutered begin breeding when the weather gets warmer.

I've been fostering for Feline Rescue for 4 1/2 years and these photos are the first kittens I fostered.  They were three orphaned brothers, left in a box outside a pet food store.

Patches, Scout, and Sparky (now Patches, Ranger and Scout).

If you are interested in fostering a pregnant cat or orphaned kittens, please contact Cathy, our foster coordinator, at 651-230-3263.

Please spay and neuter your pets to prevent unwanted litters.
