Sweet Girls in Their New Home

Sweet update received for Marmalade and Cami fka Angelica and Aggie aka Sandi Patti and Sugar Baby. Lots of names for these little girls as they moved from one foster home to another and now in their forever home.

Cami, Smudge (new big sister) and Marmalade

The kittens are having a great time. I think they love the wood floors the most because everything they decide to play with rolls so much farther. They scamper and roam the upstairs now when they're not snuggly napping with their big sister Smudge. The attached picture shows all of them together on my daughters bed.

We have renamed them. The orange tabby is now Marmalade and her sister is Cami because we all thought her colored fur looked just like the forest floor camouflage that my husband wore in the army. They seem to like the names and are responding to them when we call.

Thanks for giving them such a great start. They have truly completed our home.

Fast Friends

Emma fka Brownie has certainly bonded with her new buddy Winston as you can see from the photos we just received from her family.

We adopted Brownie (now Emma) from the shelter a little over four months ago. We most wanted a cat that would get along with our Winston. Brownie was very shy with people but loved the other cats in the “Flex room”. It took Brownie some time to feel comfortable with us humans but it took no time for her to fall in love with Winston.

They have become such good friends and she is opening up to us too!

Thank you to Emma's family for giving her an opportunity to blossom!

We are getting along famously!

Kitten Trio

Three of Twiggy's babies are looking for homes.  They would be a perfect trio together!

Winston, Brutus and Norah

But of course they could go home in pairs...

Or singly as long as there is another young kitty in the home for companionship. Remember these kittens grew up with 8 brothers and sisters.

Callie (Twiggy) and Etta

Momma cat, Callie aka Twiggy, and her daughter Ella have found a forever home together! Callie had eight babies and it is so great that she was able to be with one of her kittens since as you can see from the update from their family, they love each other's companionship.

Hi there,

Oh my! What a weekend we’ve had. It’s been SO much fun! The girlies have made themselves purr-fectly at home already. They’re eating well, and Callie has only coughed a few times. They are adorable. We’ve all fallen in love with them. Etta is definitely the more playful of the two. Callie seems a bit skittish yet. They’re purr machines. Callie will come up to you on her own, and sit there, just out of reach, and purr, but does not like too much handling yet. They both “talk” to us when we talk to them. So cute!

Some pics attached of their favorite spot to roost, watching the chipmunks & squirrels on the deck, and the birds flying around. (Hard to get good pics, cuz they blink at the flash.)

New Babies

Alani and her three kittens were pulled from an impound facility when their time was almost up.  Alani was brought into the facility pregnant and after a couple weeks had her babies there in her kennel.  The kittens are not quite two weeks old and their eyes are just beginning to open.

Mom and babies are doing very well in their new foster home. Alani is a good mom and a very sweet, affectionate cat who loves to be held.

We are always looking for foster homes so that we can save more families like Alani's.  If you have an extra room in your home for a mom and babies and would be interested in fostering, please contact Cathy, Foster Program Director, at 651-230-3263.

Adopt a Mom

Most of our foster caregivers are limited for the number of adult cats they can have in their household. They are usually unable to take in another homeless pregnant momma cat or momma cat and kittens until their current foster momma cat has been adopted. Our momma cats are normally around 1-2 years old since they have usually become pregnant as young stray cats. They are sweet, wonderful kitties looking for families of their own.

So adopt a mom and open up a foster home for another mom and babies!

Valentine (4 kittens adopted0

Pookie (5 kittens adopted)

Twiggy (4 of 8 kittens adopted)

Serafina (2 of 3 kittens adopted)

Pandora (3 kittens adopted)

Maud (4 kittens available for adoption)

If you are interested in adopting a momma cat, please contact Joan at 651-705-6264.

Message from AJ and Pixie

Dear Feline Rescue,
We thought you would like an updated photo of us. We can't believe we have been with Mommy for so long. We regularly keep in touch with our "Aunty Denise", our foster mom. We send her pictures and letters to keep her updated on our adventures.
Anyway, here is a picture of us. I'm on the left. My name is AJ, named after AJ Pierzynski. Mommy says I'm just like him, always in trouble. My big sister Pixie is on the right. She will be 7 in September, and I will be 6 in November. Mommy bought these pillows for the couch, but we claimed them for ourselves. Mommy keeps threatening to trade us in for other kitties on your web site, but we know she never will. We love to chase the laser dot, and Mommy bought us bubbles that she blows for us to chase and pop. I love doing that, but Pixie just watches them float down.
Give the kitties their treats for us.
Love,
AJ and Pixie

Thank you AJ and Pixie! Keep those updates coming, we can't get enough happy stories.

Mom, Son and Daughter Adopted Together!

One of our favorite adoptions is when momma cat finds a home with some of her kittens. We are so happy that Clara Beth has found a home with her daughter Rue fka Amy Jo and her son Fennec fka Grant.

We've already received wonderful updates for this kitty family from their family. Margaret, one of the daughters in their new family, is keeping us well supplied with great photos and stories. Following are some of Margaret's updates:

Pictures of them in their new home! Grant (aka "Cooper" -- still unofficial!) adapted very well, and loves the new toys and attention. Clara (aka "Katniss" --also unofficial) took awhile to warm up, but she warmed up quite a bit faster than we all expected her to. She spends most of her time cuddling with and grooming Amy Jo (aka "Rue" -- unofficial). When Amy Jo first arrived, I put her in a litter box, as she'd pooped in the kitty carrier, and she just stayed in there, shaking. But I sat next to her, and petted her, and soon enough, she got out. She follows Clara wherever she goes! Hope all of the pictures turn out!

The kittens are a joy to have around! Clara (we decided to keep her name as it is) is so playful! She and Grant (or Cooper or Fennec or Mouse) often play together, competing for the same toy. Rue (finally official!) sticks by Mama a lot, but she came and sat with me today while I read, and she loves to jump in and out of the shower. She is definitely our little explorer...and our escape artist; she got out of her kitty-friendly room to explore our back hall and closet!

My cousin, Jonathan, took some cardboard boxes, and cut doors into them, and hung pom-poms on strings in side them -- they were a huge hit with Grant!

They all sleep on their kitty condo, Grant on one of the ledges, and Clara inside the little house part, and Rue next to Grant or Clara. My dad slept with them last night. I think he is their favorite person now!

Rue loves to play with the laser pointer, and sometimes Fennec joins her. Fennec has a sleep/play/sleep/play schedule, and Clara like to play with all the toys that involve batting things hanging from the air; she also likes to look out the window, cuddle with the kittens, and sleep.

Fennec and Rue LOVE the laser light we got them -- they could spend all day chasing it, I'm sure. All of the kittens have no trouble with extended afternoon naps at all. Clara will sleep, and watch the outside activity through a nearby window, and groom her sleeping kitties.

Clara was in attack mode last night, and made Fennec cry. She was playing a little too rough, but that was probably just from anxiety. We opened up the rest of the house to them for a short while yesterday evening, and they loved it! Clara and Rue found out that they can hide behind the washer and dryer, and it is no small task getting them to come out!
We love them all so much!

Thank you to their new family!

Three of Clara Beth's kittens, Trina Ann, Gabbie Rae and Chase, are still available for adoption. If you'd like to learn more about them please contact Joan at 651-705-6264.
