Are Patrick and Conner still at the shelter? They used to follow Wayne around like puppy dogs. If they're still there, they'll be heartbroken without Wayne.
I haven't been back to the shelter for a few years and with a heavy heart, came across his obit when not finding him under the home page. I thought for sure, he would outlive them all. R.I.P. big guy. You had a personality and character like no other. If people didn't know any other cats, they knew Wayne. And how could you not? That slow, brooding gaze. That legendary stagger, those eyes! That loving soul. He will be forever missed.
Wayne passed away Christmas Eve morning surrounded by his feline friends. We will all miss seeing the big, gray guy at the shelter.

ReplyDeleteWayne was a legend, and I am so sad. Was he ill? I know he wasn't young, and I hope he was happy up to the end.
