We Need You!!

Become a Feline Rescue foster caregiver! You'll be in great cat and volunteer company! Foster once, foster forever.. whatever works for you. Homeless cats and kittens are in greatest need of rescue in Spring and Summer months.

Learn more about our Foster Program and apply online.

Not able to foster? Pass this along to a friend who might be willing. Every little bit helps!

Here's what people like you say is the best parts of being a Feline Rescue foster caregiver:

"Having the success stories. Seeing them grow and be comfortable in their furever home."

"Having all the kittens I want!!! Watching the transformation they go through. Learning to trust and love humans. To growing and discovering what it is to be a cat."

"CATS! SO MANY CATS"

"Having been the recipient of unconditional love by fur babies my entire life, I am humbled to be able to give that back to the forgotten and so called unadoptable ones who are on the euthanization lists. Watching their personalities shine after some acclimation is so wonderful. All we need is LOVE."

"Short answer - snuggles
Long answer - seeing a cat that is consider a lost cause or unhandable find a loving forever home."

"Happy reports from forever homes."

Photographing Kittens - the Group Challenge

Photographing a cat can be difficult (because they're cats!) and photographing a silly, energetic kitten is even more of a challenge. My own foster kittens' photos are either blurs or a bunch of kittens sleeping.

Kris Kaiser (KrisKreative Photography), has been taking amazing photos of our cats and kittens and has taken on the advanced challenge of photographing groups of wide awake kittens. It's almost magical watching her capture those moments, engaging the kittens and getting them to sit together. We're very thankful to have her sharing her skills with us to help our cats and kittens not only get adopted faster but to provide wonderful visual memories to our foster volunteers.

Blanket Donation

Lisa B. has been making blankets for our foster program for almost 4 years.  She's crafted well over 200 snugly fleece blankets.  Thank you Lisa!

Following are photos of some of Lisa's blankets.

Our kitties require the essentials (food, litter, medical care) but even better to be able to provide extras like soft blankets and toys. Thank you to all who have donated blankets and toys to make the lives of cats and kittens in our care more comfortable and enjoyable!

Yoda and Bruce!

Yoda and Bruce are purrfectly prepared for the recent cold temperatures here in Minnesota with the hat and scarf knit for them for Christmas.

From their family:

... I knitted a hat and scarf for them. They were very sleepy, figured I had a better chance of cooperation, if that was the case. They are really good kittens and we love them a lot! Thanks again.

Happy New Year!
Karen

Meet Louise

Meet Louise (aka Low Rider aka Wild Child)

Louise came to her foster home alone, terrified and frostbitten. For the first week she was scared and hid almost constantly. Several times her foster family couldn't find her in her room and thought she had disappeared, only to find her in the strangest, hard to get to, hiding places! Her foster family knew that torties have a reputation of being sassy and they thought “Not Louise! She is just a sad, scared little thing.”

A month later Louise is doing amazing and is a sassy little torti just like she should be! She loves to play, sometimes a little too rough, but we are working on that and we think once she is able to be around other cats in her foster home she will learn some manners and get some of her kitten energy out! She loves to play and likes to “hide” then pounce then run away real fast- then do it all again 100 times. We think she has major fetching potential!

She also loves to cuddle, perch on shoulders and lick fingers and watch the fish in the aquarium!

Louise is going in for her spay surgery today and will soon be ready to be adopted! Louise will definitely need to go to a home where there is another young cat or be adopted with another kitten from a different litter. Her foster family’s resident cats have quickly slipped in to her room a few times and each time she starts purring so hard then cries and cries when her mean foster mom takes them away!

If you are interested in meeting Louise, please contact Joan at 651-705-6264.

Godric's Big Adventure!

Meet Godric, one of our newest foster kittens!

Godric, a 6 month old orange tabby boy, came to us all the way from Indianapolis. We are Feline Rescue fosters and we were visiting family in Indianapolis when we came across a very sick and hungry kitten. We offered him food and water and he devoured it. We really wanted to help him but were not sure how an 11 hour drive would work with a kitten. He decided to work it and followed us all the way to our car and got in!

(Godric following us.)

The next day we were on our way home and things got really interesting! Our car died in the middle of nowhere Indiana and we had to get towed! The tow company said Godric couldn't come in the tow truck so we decided to stay in the car, on top of the tow, with him.

(Godric as we get lifted on to the tow truck.)

The entire time he just sat there, looking out the window and purring!

Finally we got our car to a auto shop and they told us we would have to wait till the next day to get the car fixed. The tow truck guy met Godric (and fell in love a little bit) and said he could ride in the tow truck when he dropped us off at the hotel.

We found a pet friendly hotel and Godric made himself right at home!

The next day we were back on the rode and Godric was perfect the entire time! Every hour or so he would switch laps and fall back asleep.

Godric is an AMAZING young cat! He is looking for his forever home and would love for you to meet him in his foster home. If you are interested please contact Joan at 651-705-6264.

Beanie Buddies

Henry and William were not single orphan kittens, or "lonely onlies" as we call them, and have always had each other, but these sweet boys still love snuggling up with their beanie buddies.
