Poppa's health problems persisted in his foster home until it was clear we could only offer the final kindness of helping him to cross over the Rainbow Bridge.
We want to send a very special Thank You and our sympathies to Laura who was his foster mom and gave him such wonderful care and love for his last days.
We are so grateful that he and his little family found their way to Feline Rescue so that he didn't have to suffer and die outdoors. He can rest assured that his family will find good homes.

Poppa Cat - Desperately in Need of a Foster Home
Update: Poppa is safe in a foster home but his prognosis is still guarded.
The Celestial Kittens and Elmo recently found foster homes thanks to some wonderful volunteers who opened their homes to kitties in need.

Now Poppa cat desperately needs a foster home. He is a very sweet male cat about 1-2 years old. He was rescued with Momma and their two calico kittens, Ava and Juno. He became very sick and the prognosis was poor. Recommendation by the Veterinary community was to put him to sleep. We asked for them to give him some more time.
He seems to be on the rebound, but needs a foster home to recover in before finding his forever home.
Can you help?
For more information, please call Cathy at 651-230-3263.
Thanks much!

The M & M Boys
... melt in your heart not your hands. I know a little corny but couldn't resist when we received the following great update from Malcolm and Massimo's new family.
Greetings, I adopted Malcolm 3 weeks ago and came back for Massimo (we call him Mo, or Mo Mo) 1 week ago. I call them the M & M boys, just like Mauer and Morneau!
They are getting along famously – love to run wild, tackle each other, and tumble around. I love them both.

Foster a Celestial Kitten
Update: we found a wonderful new foster home for the Celestials. They are growing up right on schedule, and should be ready for adoption in mid-November.
We forgot to mention yesterday that Sun, Moon, and Star are looking for a foster home. They had their vet check yesterday, where we confirmed that the little boys are about 6 weeks old, and appear healthy (other than having fleas, which are currently being treated). They are already well-socialized, are good eaters from the dish, and love to play.
Of course they love to play. Who wouldn't want a few of these fuzz balls to liven things up for a month or two?

New Kits on the Block
Three little kittens were brought into the shelter last night. Their mother was killed in the road, no doubt seeking food for her family. Then it took over a day to locate the kittens to bring them in, so they were dirty and crying from hunger. It was 8pm, but I jumped in the car and drove across town to get them.
STAR, MOON, AND SUN
Today is a better day, they are eating well and playing lots. They have already been to the vet and their age was confirmed as about six weeks and all three are boys.
STAR SAYS, "YOU'RE STRANGLING ME!"
MOON SAYS "SHUT YOUR TRAP!"
MEALTIME
I'm sad for their mom. Please spay or neuter your pets and don't let them wander.

Sad boy Elmo doing well after surgery
.jpg)
Elmo had his surgery, and he's doing well. He's very grateful to his fairy godmother, Susan, and he's happy to be convalescing at the wonderful foster home of Pat and Jim. These fantastic fosters double as Elmo's physical therapists; he has to do leg exercises twice a day.
He may not be a sad boy any more, but he's probably embarrassed that somebody stole his pants:
