After a pretty cool June here in Minnesota, we're finally getting some summer heat.
Smart little foster kitties Gabbie Rae, Amy Jo, and Trina Ann are keeping cool stretched out on the bathroom floor.
Even resident cat Meep, who usually just tolerates foster kittens, gave in and joined them to cool down too.
These kittens are three of Clara Beth's seven kittens who are ready to find their homes. If you are interested in meeting them, call 651-705-6264.

Friendly rough-and-tumble with Robby and Rondo
Robert can be too high-energy for some of the other cats at the Feline Rescue Adoption Center. But it looks like he finally met his match with new, look-alike buddy Rondo.
They took a break and then got back to the game!
If you need more action in your life, consider bringing this pair home!
June is adopt-a-shelter-cat (or two!) month.
Visit Robert and Rondo at the Feline Rescue Adoption Center, or call 651-642-5900, ext 3 for more information.

Paco and Sonja Almost Ready to Go Home
Sonja and her sisters, Peggy and Dorothy, found their way to a Feline Rescue foster home after being rescued. Paco was also rescued as an orphaned kitten and joined the girls after a couple weeks.
Peggy and Dorothy have met their family and will go home once they have had their spay surgeries. Sonja and Paco are still looking for the purrfect home and will also be ready in a couple weeks to go home once they've had their surgeries too.
These kittens are cuddly, lovey-dovey, cuties and whoever adopts them will be very lucky.
From their foster caregiver:
Paco is a sweet and gentle soul. He is playful and loving. He has a big purr and gives great kisses by rubbing his nose on mine. He will close his eyes, put his head back and purr when he is scratched on his head and neck. Paco loves to be pet.
Sonja - There's a big personality packed into her little body. Sonja likes to curl up on your shoulder or any place near your face when she is sleepy. She purrs very loudly and is really soft. Her wonderful fur will need regular brushing, though. She is very friendly and outgoing and likes to meet new people.
Sonja and Paco would be great together in a new home, but could also be separated.
If you are interested in meeting Sonja and Paco, please call 651-705-6264.

Rub that Belly
June is adopt a shelter cat month!
Euclid fka Harvey may not grant you three wishes but he'll certainly purr if you rub his belly. Euclid was adopted six months ago and we recently received another excellent update.
Euclid has adjusted extremely well and everyone who meets him immediately falls in love with him. He is an extremely friendly cat who loves to have his belly rubbed (as you can see from the photo!).

Black cat buddies: Rocket & Sheeba
These were my foster kitties that came from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue and were taken in by Feline Rescue. Adrian (now Sheba) was one of the Vikings kittens; Bounce (now Rocket) came to me as a lonely only stray, but quickly made friends with the Vikings. Here's an update:
SHEEBAI realized that I haven’t sent any pictures for a while. I hope you won’t mind but I did rename Adrian to Sheba. She comes when I call any name including any visitor’s name so she doesn’t seem to mind. And she has some of the mannerisms of my previous cat Sheba so it’s nice to have a Sheba around.
ROCKET & DOG ON A WALKRocket has learned to walk on a leash. He comes running when I pull out his harness and leash as he knows he gets to go outside. Although I’m always close by, I have attached Rocket’s leash to Dakota. My dog slows him down as well as makes him easier to spot.
NO BIRDS?Sheba prefers to stay inside and watch the birds and does not like the harness (just like my previous Sheba).
ROCKET & SHEEBA BFFsThey both are doing great and are having a great time. Thanks for letting me take care of them.

An Update and LOTS of Photos for Miranda fka Gracie
June is Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat month!
Miranda fka Gracie was adopted in December 2010. She is certainly enjoying life with her family including her "boyfriend" Keifer.
My fiance and I adopted Miranda almost 6 months ago, and she still is doing phenomenally well. She is happy and has grown even closer to her new "boyfriend" Kiefer. They spend a lot of time together, and she loves to snuggle with him and with us.
Miranda spends countless hours curled up and looking out the large window in our living room. It is surprising that 6 months have gone by, and it is hard for us to think she hasn't been with us forever.

Blue-Eyed Boys in Their New Home
June is Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat month!
These two very handsome boys, now named Guy and Roland, recently found a home together.
I've renamed the cats Guy [gee] and Roland after two characters in the French movie The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
Here is a photo of the two in the guest room, now the cat room. They stayed in the room for about ten days and then really wanted OUT. They'd had supervised visits with each of my three dogs. When they finally came out and downstairs, they were very curious to check out the house. Guy, the shorter-hair, is more outgoing, very vocal, loves belly rubs, and tries to play with the dogs. Roland, the longer-hair, is more reserved, enjoys getting into paper bags and boxes, stretching out in the shower stall, and investigating any source of running water. I am so glad I got them together because they are so closely bonded.
Thank you for helping me adopt them. They are a great fit in the household and are doing fantastic!

Sonnet Fun Photo Update

Happy 4th Birthday, Nelson!
Hello again, I wanted to send you an update on Nelson aka Chip of the Chipmunks.
Nelson celebrated his 4th birthday on June 1st. He was treated with a bit of baked chicken, a couple of treats and lots of love!
He has become very attached to what I fondly call his “Girlfriend” which is a long pastel braided piece of thick yarn. He sleeps with it, drags it everywhere around the house, and has an odd meow which accompanies him dragging the yarn about. He has 2 girl cats to play with and many other toys yet he has to have his yarn girlfriend!
Nelson is very healthy and well-adjusted. I believe this is in part due to his socialization with all the other cats he was brought up with in a loving foster home.
As I say every year, thank you for the wonderful addition to my family, thank you for his great start in life, and thanks to Feline Rescue for saving his mother so I could be the lucky woman to have Nelson in my life.

Tippie
Tippie is a black, dsh, polydactyl, approximately 2yrs old. She has become blind in one eye due to a possible virus she contracted while living on the streets. She may need to have surgery to have it removed.Though new to seeing through one eye, it does not seem to stop her from being extremely playful and affectionate. She is a little nervous around new people. Once you pick up that string or catnip toy, its a guarantee you have made a new friend for life. Her foster mom says she is absolutely one of the LOVELIEST kitties she has ever met.
You can watch several cute videos of her and get updates from her foster mom on her facebook page. If you are interested in making a donation towards her care, please use the donate button on the right sidebar of this blog and mark your donation for "Tippie/Foster Care". Or, if you are interested in adopting Tippie, please contact Cathy@ Feline Rescue: 651-230-3263
