Tina, Feeling Super in Her New Home

As we've mentioned before our black kitties usually take a bit longer to find their families. Tina was no exception but after almost a year in the shelter she found them. From the following update it sounds like she's enjoying having her own people and from the photos of Tina rolling around in catnip it looks like she's learning to let it all hang out.

...Wanted to let you know that she's doing great. At first she was very fearful--even afraid of windows and sunbeams. But she's really come out of her shell and seems less afraid every day. She loves catnip and sitting in the window. She's extremely sweet and can't get enough attention. Still fearful of strangers, but she is bonding well with us and has become much more assertive.
She LOVES her toys, and at some point each day she turns into Spaz Cat, galloping through the house, tearing up and down the stairs. She seems to favor hard floors, chairs and tables to soft beds and couches, but she's very slowly starting to spend time on the couch, and we've even seen her on the bed sometimes.
So, she's making progress, acting more and more like a cat every day. And when she wants to retreat into Scaredy Cat Land, she crawls between the couch and wall and shuts her eyes--she's all black so she just disappears, almost like she has super powers. It's like she KNOWS we can't see her!
Next big adventure will be the first trip to the vet, hopefully in September.

We are so glad that shelters like yours are available. Thanks for taking such good care of the kitties!

Stephanie and John
