Brightons on the loose

You'll be happy to hear that the Brightons are growing into rambunctious teenage boys - four together are a bit of a handful. They are now off oral antibiotics, and though we still have some snotty noses you would never recognize these kittens as the ones near death in the incubator slightly more than a month ago. Charlie and Chauncey paid a visit to the kitty ophthalmologist, who gave them some drops for their sore eyes. They had rather severe corneal ulcers and inflammation from what is probably a feline herpes virus, but are well on the road to recovery. He thinks their vision will be just fine, though Charlie will be left with a permanent squint because the layers at the edge of his eye fused while they were sealed shut for so long.

Thanks to the loving human care they received while so ill, all four boys are little bundles of purring feline love. They have started couch potato training, and Charlie especially loves movies and TV time. Taking an afternoon nap with them is like sleeping in a turbo engine - nothing like four purrs in surround sound.

Now that they have house privileges, with lots of room to run, this may be the last family portrait we manage. (L->R Chester, Chauncey, Chadwick, and Charles.)

This is their more typical activity on the cat tree.
