From a malnourished, young kitten pulled from an animal control facility just a little over a year ago to a gorgeous kitty today, Bella fka BabyCakes certainly lives up to her name. She is a beautiful, sweet girl.
BabyCakes's story:
I had gone to an animal control facility to pull some kitties that were urgent as the facility was overcrowded and cats and kittens were going to be euthanized. As I was filling out the paperwork at the front desk the animal control officer behind the desk asked if she could show me something. I said sure and had no idea what she meant. She reached below the desk and pulled out BabyCakes. So tiny and thin, just a ball of fluff. BabyCakes and her siblings had been found and brought to animal control. Her siblings passed away soon upon arriving and the animal control officer had been desperately trying to keep BabyCakes alive but she was so little she needed to be bottle fed every 3-4 hours.
A couple months before I got BabyCakes we had also pulled a momma cat (Alani) and 3 babies (Cookie, CupCake and Danish) from the same animal control facility so once BabyCakes seemed healthy and stable I started to introduce her to that family. The kittens were much bigger and momma cat was not having any of it at first but eventually she let BabyCakes nurse which was so wonderful. BabyCakes LOVED being able to nurse and so did I as it meant I wouldn't have to get up in the middle of the night to feed her. She flourished and quickly found a loving home with another kitten also adopted from Feline Rescue.
Bella's fka BabyCakes most recent update from her family:
I just wanted to give you an update on Bella (aka Babycakes). I've attached some photos and, as you can see, she has grown into a beautiful little girl! She still loves playing with her brother, Oliver (also adopted from Feline Rescue). They are thick as thieves: they often run from one end of the house to the other, play with their new toys (we rotate so they don't get bored), and then end up in a heap of tuckered out fur on our bed or in some sunny spot in the house.
Bella rarely meows, but often makes an adorable chirping sound in her throat whenever she's feeling playful. She is the most curious of our three cats and likes to follow close behind us from room to room, no matter what we happen to be doing. She is so healthy and happy in her forever home and we owe that to Feline Rescue and all of the fabulous work that you do.
