Lucius and Cho!

Ever since their Mama and brother and sister went to their forever homes, Cho and Lucius's personalities have really started to shine!

Of course they have their foster mom's cats to get all of their big kitty love from, but they are still looking for their forever homes!

Lucius used to be the most independent of the kittens and now he follows his foster mom around the house constantly. He loves being held, cuddled and brushed! The second you touch his silky soft fun he starts purring!

Cho used to be shy and quite. Now she loves to play and run around the house pouncing on the big cats! She loves people attention and is a big cuddle bug too!

Happy Fourth!

These four kittens were abandoned in a box on a hot day. No more living in boxes for these cuties.  They are having a blast at their foster home. They love all the people, the big cats, and the dog.  These kittens can play and purr like crazy!

Lynxie, Hai-Ro (that's Japanese for gray), To-Ra (Tiger), and Shiro-Tabi (white socks) will soon be spayed and neutered and available for adoption. If you are interested in learning more about these kitties, please call 651-705-6264.

This Little Piggy

There are lots of great cats awaiting adoption at Feline Rescue’s Adoption Center.  Piglett is one of them!

Piglett is a beautiful young cat with a boisterous personality.  This guy is funny and full of energy.  Piglett loves to play, and he plays hard.  Not all of the other cats appreciate Piglett’s energy, but he has lots of fans in the volunteers. One of them even wrote a Piglett poem:

I’m gray and I’m white with a cute pink nose

I’m young and I’m handsome as everyone knows

Quick and clever and smart as can be

None of the kitties here can keep up with me

A big imagination and a bigger heart

 I just need the chance to be part

Of a family.

Kitten Season: How You Can Help

Kitten season is here and the pressure is high to help all the little ones out there.    Feline Rescue is inundated with calls for help every day, and we need your help:

• Adopt an older shelter cat (or two!) to make room to get more cats off the streets.
• Help get community stray cats spayed and neutered.
• Take in and care for a stray cat or kitten until you can find it a home or a spot with a rescue.
• Volunteer to socialize feral kittens- it's fun and rewarding!
• Donate to Feline Rescue.

Matty and Morty are two kittens who were recently helped through our spay-neuter-outreach program.  Their mom, a feral cat, was spayed and released back outside.  The kittens were taken in by a volunteer to be socialized and recently found a great forever home.  You can help make more happy endings like this one!

Little Ginny is used to being a little different. She's the only orange sibling in a litter of black long-haired fluff balls. They play together; she plays by herself. They pile together onto the top level of a one level kitty condo; she sleeps in a nearby cat bed. But now her siblings are fairly healthy while poor little Ginny is hospitalized. She has a fever of 105 (normal cat temperature is 100-102). She coughs. Her lungs sound crackly. She also has giardia and roundworm. The vet has ruled out distemper and pneumonia but is a little confused about what's causing Ginny's fever.

Little Ginny would like to return to her foster home, where she gets kissed on the nose and brushed (and there are lots and lots of bent-up pipe cleaners to play with) but she cannot leave the vet until her fever breaks and she begins to feel better. In the meantime, she needs help with her vet bills. You can sponsor Ginny and the rest of her litter (brothers Louie and Moe and sister Millie) by donating to Feline Rescue. Rest in Peace, Skittles

I am so sad to report that within twelve hours of the filming of this video, my little foster kitten, Skittles, became ill and despite three days of vet visits for fluids and medicine and syringe-feedings, she faded away and died last night.

Today she would have been eight weeks old. It is very possible that she had internal deformities (as well as her twisted legs and tail) that were taking a toll as she got older.

I take comfort that she had all the fun and love she did in her short life. Her mother Candy was with her every step of the way. I think she knew it was coming.
