Mona's (fka Onyx) family sent the following update and photos of Mona loving her new home, hanging out with her new friend Lila, and enjoying her new favorite past time - "hunting" squirrels and birds.
She is doing just great and is settling in quite well with our other cat Lila. In the beginning Lila wasn't sure what to make of her new sister. There was some hissing and some growling, but now they are friends. Not in the cuddle up together sense, but they will sleep on the same (human) bed or on the same rug on the heated bathroom floor. We figure at some point we'll actually find them snuggled up together.
It has been a joy to watch Mona settle into our home. She is incredibly affectionate and purrs as loud as a jet engine. She hasn't quite figured out if she likes to sit on laps, but she will come up next to you and literally plop over. She is obsessed with her feather on a string and will chase a fuzzy ball around the house with seemingly endless energy. Her favorite activity, by far, is "hunting" the birds, squirrels and rabbits that frequent the feeders outside our living room. If only she always remembered that there is a window between her and them (ouch)!
Thank you again for all of your great work - we tell others about you all often.
